Taxi's
Taxi's in Qingdao start at 7RMB for the first 4k (2.5 miles) from 5:00am - 10pm & 1.2RMB for every succeeding kilometer and 1.8RMB for every kilometer after 6k
After 10pm, the taxi fee still starts at 7RMB for the first 3k, but it goes up to 1.6RMB per kilometer between 3 to 6 kilometers and 2.2RMB after 6k.
Busses
Qingdao is a hilly city and therefore you don't get many bicycles bumping into you. The public bus system tends to be the most heavily used system of transportation. This means it gets crowded. It's likely you won't want to be taking busses around as taxi's come so cheaply. That being said, if you want to pinch those pennies there's nothing better than the bus!
Standard bus fare is 1RMB, 2RMB on an air-conditioned bus.
Ferries
Ferries travel between Qingdao Old City and Huangdao across Jiaozhou Bay. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to get to Huangdao.
Ordinary Boat: 6:30am - 9pm, every 30min. 7RMB.
High-speed Boat: 7:20am - 5pm, every 20min. 9.5RMB.
Qingdao - Xuejia Island (Anzi Dock)
High-speed Boat: 7:15am - 5:15pm, every 30min.
